Criminal & traffic law
BA (Pol), LLB, GDLP, Accredited Specialist (Criminal Law)
Who you will deal with
Daniel’s practice is criminal and traffic law. He is one of a small number of solicitors in New South Wales whom the Law Society has accredited as having demonstrated specialised competence in criminal law, and he co-founded and directs a Sydney criminal defence practice, so the work is not something he fits around other things.
That accreditation is worth understanding, because it is the only credential on this page that is independently assessed. It is not a marketing badge and it does not attach to a firm. It is conferred on an individual solicitor under the Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation scheme after assessment of demonstrated competence in the field, it is held by a small minority of the profession, and it has to be maintained with specialist continuing education every year. It belongs to Daniel personally, and it can be checked on the Law Society’s public register.
Daniel has appeared across the full range of NSW criminal jurisdictions, from the Children’s Court and the Local Court through to the District and Supreme Courts. The work runs from the matters that dominate a Local Court list, drink driving and drug possession, up to large-scale fraud, sexual offences and armed robbery in the higher courts.
The first conversation is about facts, not reassurance: what you have been charged with, what the police brief actually contains, and what the realistic range of outcomes is. Where the evidence is weak, he will say so. Where it isn’t, he will say that too, early, because a client who understands their position early has options that a client who finds out at the courthouse door does not.

Apprehended domestic violence orders, safety planning, and the direct effect family violence now has on a property settlement.
Credentials
Where Jack appears most often. Highlighted courts are the ones he is in weekly.
Regional NSW Local Courts by arrangement. If your matter is listed somewhere not on this list, ask — it is usually a question of notice rather than distance.
Not a service promise. A description of how the matter will actually run.
Every credential on this page can be checked independently. Specialist Accreditation is conferred on an individual solicitor, never on a firm, and the Law Society of New South Wales maintains a public register of who holds it. If a lawyer will not point you at the register, ask why.
Twenty minutes with Jack, no charge. Urgent matters answered same day, seven days.
